Baking Cup Party Favours for Easter

For me, a holiday gathering isn’t complete without party favours. They are just fun to add to each place setting, as well as helping to decorate your table.

The inspiration for this project came as I was looking through some baking supplies in my kitchen cupboard. It’s easy to do and guests will be delighted by these baking cup party favours for Easter.

These baking cups are larger and made of a heavier paper than regular paper baking cups. I had a few of these in my cupboard and, as they were a springy colour, I thought they would work well for this project.

I also had some pastel coloured card stock in my craft stash and chose a pale purple to make the handles for my basket, using my small paper cutter. I cut the strips 6 1/2″ long by just under an inch wide.

I used tacky glue to attach the handles to the baking cups, applying glue to the bottom one inch on each end of the paper strips. Use a paint brush or your finger to spread the glue to the edges.

The tacky glue gave me the ability to move the paper around before it dried, so I could make sure it was straight. I did find though, that once it was in place, I had to hold the paper down for a minute to make sure it was bonded to the baking cup.

Now I have a mini Easter basket. It took no time at all and I made enough of these for each dinner guest I expect.

This is optional, but as I had these tiny paper flowers in my stash, I decided to dress up these little baskets by attaching one to each end of the handle. My flowers were in neutral colours. Coloured ones would make a bigger impact.

I like the idea of paper Easter grass, as it will be recyclable after it has served its purpose. I filled each of my Easter baskets almost to the top.

After I filled each basket with treats, I added the beaded carrot place cards I made earlier. I think they add the perfect touch to these party favours. You can fill these little Easter baskets any way you want. If you are making them for kids, you might want to tuck a small toy in among the chocolates.

Check out last year’s Easter party favours, too.
