Every new season brings dozens of new decorative pieces to Dollar Tree stores. Most of them can stand on their own, however, combining two or more of them can elevate them into unique decor pieces.

Summer Decor Idea 1: Pair a Candlestick With a Tray

Love these whimsical flower stem candlesticks from Dollar Tree.

I decided to pair this wall hanging from the Shore Living collection with the shortest flower stem candlestick. You can spray paint these pieces whatever colour suits your decor.

Step 1: Hot Glue Tray to Candlestick

All I did was hot glue the candlestick to the bottom centre of the wall hanging and reinforce it with extra hot glue around the outside edges of the candlestick.

Step 2: Use As a Candle Stand

Then you can use it as a pillar candle holder or…

…fill it with sea glass and use as a decorative nautical accent. Visit this page to see how I made the seahorse decor.

Summer Decor Idea 2: Tea Light Holders Using Flower Wall Hangings

I picked up five of these pretty metal wall decor pieces when I saw them earlier this year and wondered what else could be down with them besides hanging them on the wall.

I discovered that you can turn them into attractive tea light holders just my sitting them on a flat surface and placing a tea light candle in the centre.

It doesn’t get any easier than that!

Dollar Tree has these more decorative tea lights in different styles on hand from time to time. These floral ones seemed perfect for this purpose but a plain tea light could be used, as well.

Summer Decor Idea 3: Easy Canvas Wall Art

I found this set of wall stickers at Dollarama and thought that the colours were a great match for the colours in the metal flowers.

I used are three more of the metal flowers and a 16 x 20-inch canvas from Dollarama.

Step 1: Arrange Floral Stickers on Canvas

I didn’t even paint the canvas, simply placing it vertically and laying on the wall stickers. It took me a while to determine how I wanted the floral stickers to be placed on the canvas. You will see that they have be rearranged in the finished project. They are easy to move around, but you have to be careful not to tear them in the process.

Also, you don’t necessarily have to use all of the wall stickers on the sheet. I left one of the greenery pieces off because I thought adding it would make things look too crowded.

Step 2: Attach Metal Flowers

Next, I hot glued each of the metal flowers over top of one of the sticker blooms.

I have always liked the idea of adding 3 dimensional items to flat artwork, as I’ve seen done with other pieces. I think combining these wall stickers with the metal flowers makes for a unique and interesting piece of art you can use anywhere you need more colour in your home.
