While it’s sad to see summer waning, the changing of the seasons is inevitable and each one offers its own unique charm. Personally, I look forward to wearing cozy sweaters again and curling up by the fireplace with my cat, Aggie, on my lap.

Fall is also a great time for crafting. I had two acrylic boards from Dollar Tree in my stash that I wasn’t sure what to do with, when I was inspired to try making fall signs that could sit on a shelf.

Here’s how to make two easy autumn signs that can very quickly be made over for any season. This is a very inexpensive project, as all three of the main supplies needed can be found at Dollar Tree. You may already have one or two of them in your craft stash.

Supplies Used and Recommendations:

Step 1: Choose Window Clings Designs for the Acrylic Signs

I found this sheet of window clings at Dollar Tree and chose two of the sayings for the autumn signs I was making. You can use whatever window cling design you choose.

The two acrylic sheets also came from Dollar Tree. One sign will be displayed vertically and the other one will be displaying horizontally. I centred each window cling in the middle of the acrylic sheets.

Step 2: Create a Stand for the Autumn Signs

Now I needed to find a way to make my signs stand up. I pulled out my stash of tumbling tower blocks and  glued two blocks together end to end. You will need two sets of two for each acrylic sign you’re making.

I decided against painting the blocks, as I like how the natural wood looks. Of course, you could paint or stain them to match your decorating style.

Step 3: Glue Blocks to Autumn Sign

Centre the first set of tumbling tower blocks on the acrylic sign and hot glue them in place. Be sure to line the edges of the blocks up with the edge of the sign, so it will sit flat on a table or bookshelf.

Step 4: Attach The Second Set of Two Blocks

Turn the sign over and hot glue the second set of two tumbling towering blocks onto the acrylic sign, lining them up with the first set. You’ll want to make sure that the window clings won’t be covered up by the stand.

Step 5: Add Additional Window Clings to the Autumn Sign

I used a few of the small leaves from the window cling sheet to complete the two acrylic signs.

You can use whatever window clings you have on hand to decorate these signs. The beauty of this idea is that the window clings adhere to the acrylic as they would to glass. No glue needed! They are easily removed, making it easy to redo these signs for any season using another set of window clings.

I’m pleased with how these acrylic signs turned out and I’ll be keeping an eye out for some Christmas window clings to use on them for the upcoming holiday season.
