For me, a family get-together isn’t complete without party favours. At this writing, I was in the process of packing up to move to another apartment, so I didn’t have much time to think about what I could put together in a hurry. My daughter was hosting, so I didn’t have to worry about preparing the meal, but I still always like to take party favours.
While browsing the candy aisle at my local dollar store, I came across the three-pack Ferrero Rocher and thought I could turn them into mini pumpkins. It was an inexpensive idea that turned out pretty cute. Best of all, I already had everything I needed at home to complete the idea.

Supplies Used and Recommendations:
- Ferrero Rocher chocolates
- orange tissue paper
- wood twig cut into 3/4″ pieces
- wood craft leaves or felt craft leaves
- tape
- hot glue
Step 1: Cut Tissue Paper Squares

Cut tissue paper into squares approximate 6-inches square. I found that it was easier to trim any excess paper that it was to cut each piece to the exact size needed.
As one piece of tissue paper was too thin and let the surprise inside show through, I used two pieces to wrap each piece of candy.
Step 2: Wrap the Candy Like a Gift

Turn the candy upside down on the tissue paper and begin wrapping the candy as you would a gift.

Step 3: Trim Ends and Finish Wrapping

Trim the ends of the tissue paper and finish wrapping and taping the candy piece.

The pumpkin won’t be perfectly round, but it’s close enough!
Step 4: Hot Glue Stem and Leaf To the Pumpkin

I had some decorative twigs on hand, but you could also just go outside and find a twig in the appropriate size and cut that into 3/4-inch pieces. Hot glue a piece of stem to the top of the pumpkin…

…as well as a leaf next to the stem. I had these wood leaves in my stash, but you could also use mini felt craft leaves or small faux leaves from a floral stem. The green leaf makes a nice contrast to the orange tissue paper.
This is a quick and inexpensive way to add a bit of fun to your fall table. Put one of these little pumpkins at each place setting as an after dinner treat for friends and family and watch their reactions.
