Hugs and Kisses
Supplies Used and Recommendations:

When I saw this wood Tic Tac Toe game at Dollarama, my mind went to Valentine’s Day. Instead of Xs and Os, I saw hugs and kisses. If you can’t find this game, Dollar Tree sells individual wood letters. They are larger, but would also work very nicely.
The narrow wood plaques were also found at Dollarama. I thought, at first, that I would use one as a base, but in the end, decided not to.
Step 1: Paint X’s

These letters are a good size at about 2 inches tall. I set aside 2 Xs and 2 Os and began by painting the Xs with red paint on both sides. I used Christmas Red but you might opt for pink, instead. Three coats of paint covered the black well.

You won’t even have to paint the Os unless you’d rather have pink instead of white, but I like them as they are. I think white and red look fabulous together. Anyway, it means less painting!
Step 2: Hot Glue X’s and O’s In a Row

My idea was to join my kisses and hugs in a row. By holding the O’s against the X’s, I determined where the glue was needed to hold them together. A bit of hot glue just above the ridges of the X’s, (or below, depended on which end you are glueing), proved to be a good way to secure the X’s and O’s together.
Because the middle section of the O’s are wider on one end than the other, be sure both O’s are turned the same way on so that things look symmetrical.

There are enough X’s and O’s in the game to make two of these. I think this looks so cute and would be a charming gift to give to someone special or to use on a tiered tray or shelf.
Bear Under Glass
Supplies Used and Recommendations:
- a small plastic cloche
- mini stuffed animal
- Valentine ribbon
- two-sided tape
- tacky glue

I had this cute little stuffed bear already in my stash. It’s about 3 inches tall, the perfect size for the cloche I’m using. If you can’t find a mini stuffed animal, look for something sentimental about the same size.

I wrapped a length of Valentine ribbon around the base of the cloche and secured it on either end with tacky glue.

After I put the little bear into the cloche, I thought the dome of the cloche needed a little something, too. I cut a narrow strip of two-sided tape and put it on the top of the cloche in the middle.
Take the dome off of the base and measure and cut the length of ribbon you will need to cover it from one edge to the other. Make sure the ribbon doesn’t interfere with the dome being removed from the base.

After attaching the middle of the ribbon to the tape on the top of the dome, two more narrow strips of two-sided tape were used to secure the ribbon to either side of the dome.

I love how this teddy cloche turned out.

You can attach a gift tag to the top of the dome for gift-giving, or use this little decor piece in your own home.

Valentine’s Day gifts such as these two examples, are not only simple to make, but they can be displayed year round and are sure to bring a smile of remembrance to the recipient every time they see them.
