Whenever I see the small domed cloches at a dollar store, I grab up a couple. I love them, as they allow me to indulge my fondness for decorating with miniatures. As well, cloches are one of those items that can be dressed up for any season.

These two fall miniatures using small cloches were so easy to do.

Supplies Used and Recommendations:

Project 1: Pumpkin Patch Cloche

Step 1: Glue Pumpkins to Base of Cloche

I got a little ahead of myself here and forgot to take a picture of just the pumpkins. They came in a package of six with attached wires. I cut the wires off and hot glued them to the base of the cloche; three on the bottom and one on top.

Step 2: Colour Dowel and Craft Stick for Cloche

To make the sign, I cut down a narrow dowel about 2 1/2″ to stand in for a post and used a piece of a medium craft stick. I didn’t want to get out my paint just to make a couple of signs for the cloches, so I used a light coloured furniture marker to “paint” them.

I used the dark brown furniture marker to colour the piece of dowel. Then I cut the piece of craft stick to size, printed a message on it and hot glued it to the dowel.

Next, I made a base for my sign using a piece of a small craft stick and hot glued the sign to it. The base made it easy for me to attach the sign to the base of the cloche so it remained stable.

Step 3: Add Moss to Miniature Cloche Display

To finish this cloche, I added some moss around the pumpkins and the sign, effectively covering any of the base that was left showing.

My cute little pumpkin patch was easy to make and will make a colourful decoration over the fall and Thanksgiving season.

Project 2: Harvest Cloche Miniature

Step 1: Add Miniature Figurines to Base of Cloche

I used this sheaf of wheat with attached pumpkins and apples, as well as the sunflower with bird, to make this decoration, hot gluing them in the centre of the cloche base. I had these in my stash and were found at Dollar Tree, but you can use any fall miniatures for this.

Step 2: Add Sign to Miniature Decoration

I made another sign using the same method as before and hot glued it beside the figurines.

If you do this, be sure that the little sign is far enough back from the sides so it doesn’t interfere with the dome cover. I had to remove the pole from the base and move it over to the left a bit, when I realized it wouldn’t allow me to put the cover on.

I added some moss around the base, as before and this cloche was complete. It isn’t necessary to glue the moss to the base and I chose not to so it would be easier to reuse the cloches later.

Finished Miniatures in Cloches

I’m more than happy with the way my two cloches turned out. Miniatures make me so happy!
