4 Quick Tips for Valentine’s Day Decor

Quick Tip 1: Wrap LED Candles in Window Clings
I picked up a sheet of three 21 inch long Valentine window clings at Dollarama. By cutting one of them in half, I was able to wrap two LED candles. The window clings overlapped on the back just enough so that I didn’t need any tape to hold them on. The ends “cling” to each other.
When Valentine’s Day is over, I’ll be able to easily remove the window clings and dress these candles for the spring season.
Quick Tip 2: Make Instant Art With a Sheet of Puffy Heart Stickers
This is so easy to do, I can hardly believe it looks so good. All you need is a 8 x 10 frame. I removed the insert that comes with the frame, turned it over and attached a sheet of puffy heart stickers to it using folded tape carefully hidden behind the largest hearts. I used one piece of tape at the top and one at the bottom.
Again, there is nothing permanent about this art, it’s easily removed so you can reuse the frame for another project after Valentine’s Day.
Quick Tip 3: Add a Window Cling to a Frame
You can do this for any size of frame. I repurposed this small frame I had in my stash by replacing the backing paper in an appropriate colour and attaching a window cling directly to the front of the frame. Nothing easier!

Quick Tip 4: Replace Checkers with Wood Heart Shapes
I thought it would be fun to replace the regular checkers on my game board with heart-shaped wood pieces for Valentine’s Day. I’ve had these wooden hearts in my stash for some time. I believe I found them at Dollarama last year.
I hesitated to paint the plain hearts black, it didn’t seem appropriate somehow, but you could add flat Valentine stickers to them for a hit of colour.
See the tutorial for this homemade checkerboard that I made using Tumbling Tower Blocks.
