Meaningful Valentine’s Gifts
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: gifts don’t have to be expensive to be meaningful and appreciated. In fact, it’s often the small gestures that mean the most.
Here are four more ideas to help you convey your love without the help of large heart-shaped boxes of chocolates or diamond jewelry.
Sweet Hearts
These small lidded jars can be turned into Valentine gifts by filling them with candy treats like cinnamon hearts. Any small lidded jar will work. Then use a Valentine muffin cup to cover the lid and a tassel tie or decorative ribbon to secure it.
Wrapped in Love
A large chocolate bar, wrapped in two different coordinating papers and liberally embellished with heart stickers and ribbon, makes a sweet remembrance for someone special. Rather than the “I Love You” sticker, you might try writing a personal note on the paper.
We used the ribbon to hide the seam between the two papers and the puffy heart stickers got an upgrade with shimmering heart stickers.
How to Frame Your Love
Turn a frame into a permanent greeting card. Print a poem that conveys your sentiments or write a personal message you can print and trim to fit into the frame of your choice. Letter stickers can then be added to the top of the poem to convey who the card is for and to ‘sign’ your greeting in the same way at the bottom.
Love by the Basketful
Gift baskets are perfect for any occasion. This gift basket contains a few examples of the kinds of things that are popular for Valentine’s Day, including a stuffed animal, a keepsake crystal-look token, something sweet in the form of an iced cookie, something pampering, like these rosebud soap petals and votive candle holders.
Personalize your gift basket according to the particular preferences of the person you’re giving it to. Finish with clear basket wrap, tied with Valentine ribbon and add a gift tag or card.
